I was lucky enough to be walking by the Egyptian Theater one day and happened to notice a poster advertising the Original Star Trek. Not only did I buy myself a ticket, I bought one for my roommate as well. This movie is amazing. Without a doubt. Robert Wise, crafts a wonderful tale told by the original cast of the original series. I was fortunate enough to grab a good seat and enjoy the 70MM printing of this classic. Everyone definitely needs to see this movie this way at least once in their lifetime.

Think the original series had a lot going for it: - Great casting - GREAT writing / storylines - Great characters This production: if it were any slower, would be a still frame. Some of the writing (most) is quite bad, and the original actors often have a tough time recreating the same spark and freshness from the original series. Is this also an effect from the actors aging? The story and dialogue are so inferior to the original series, it makes one wonder: "what happened to all the competent writers"? The visual effects look great, except for the shots with ships moving across the frame - these have a prominent dark border around the ships. Love the Klingons. Subtitled & all. MUCH better conception / execution than JJ Abrahms' benign / amazingly unaffecting / not-at-all menacing Romulans in "Star Trek" (2009)
